Our website is hosted and powered by Shopify Inc., which acts as a data processor on our behalf and has its own privacy commitments. We sell authentic footwear from On Running, HOKA, and Brooks. All customer data we collect is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy, UK data protection law (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and applicable provincial privacy legislation including Quebec's Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25).
Section 02
Information We Collect
We collect only the information that is reasonably necessary to operate our store, fulfil your orders, respond to your questions, and improve your shopping experience. Below is a complete account of every category of data we may collect and its source.
Order & Account Information
PROVIDED BY YOU
When you place an order or create an account, you provide us with the following information directly:
Full name
Billing address
Shipping address
Email address
Phone number (optional)
Account password (encrypted)
Product selections & sizes
Order history
Return & refund requests
Customer service correspondence
Payment Information
PROCESSED BY SHOPIFY
We do not store your full payment card details. All payment transactions are processed through Shopify's PCI-DSS-compliant payment infrastructure and third-party payment processors including Shopify Payments, PayPal, and other gateways available at checkout. These processors collect your card number, expiry date, and security code directly and do not pass them to us. We receive only a transaction confirmation reference, the last four digits of your card, card type, and the transaction outcome. You should review the relevant payment processor's privacy policy for details of how they handle your payment data.
Automatically Collected Technical Data
COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY
When you visit our website, Shopify and our analytics tools automatically record technical information to ensure the site works properly and to help us understand how visitors use it:
IP address
Browser type & version
Operating system
Device type (desktop/mobile)
Pages visited & time spent
Referring URL (where you came from)
Clickstream data
Session duration
Country / region (from IP)
Cart abandonment signals
Cookies & Persistent Identifiers
VIA YOUR BROWSER
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (pixels, local storage, session tokens) are used by our platform (Shopify) and by analytics and advertising services we use. These may include a unique device or session identifier that allows us to recognise your browser between visits. You can control cookies through your browser settings or through our opt-out page. Full details of the cookies we use are set out in Section 05 of this policy.
Communications You Send Us
PROVIDED BY YOU
When you contact us by email, phone, or live chat — whether for pre-sale questions, order support, return requests, or complaints — we record the content of your communications, your contact details, and any attachments you share. This record allows us to respond to you accurately and maintain a history of your case for continuity of service.
Section 03
How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information for the following specific purposes. We do not use your data for any purpose not listed here without first obtaining your consent or notifying you of a change to this policy.
Order Fulfilment & Delivery
We use your name, shipping address, email address, and phone number to process your order, arrange dispatch, provide shipping tracking notifications, and deliver your ON Running, HOKA, or Brooks footwear to your door in the United States or Canada.
Customer Service & Support
We use your contact details and order history to respond to your questions, resolve complaints, handle return and refund requests, and provide after-sales support. Communications are retained to ensure continuity of service if your case spans multiple contacts.
Website Operation & Improvement
Technical data about your browsing session (device type, pages visited, errors encountered) helps us diagnose problems, improve page performance, test new features, and understand which products and categories attract the most interest so we can improve our catalogue.
Transactional & Order Emails
We send you emails that are necessary to complete and manage your order: order confirmation, payment confirmation, shipping notification with tracking, delivery confirmation, return authorisation, and refund confirmation. These are service communications and cannot be opted out of while your order is active.
Marketing Communications (Consent-Based Only)
If you explicitly opt in — either at checkout or through our website — we may send you promotional emails about new arrivals, exclusive offers, and updates on our On Running, HOKA, and Brooks collections. We never send marketing emails without your prior, express consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us at info@ewwsportsshoes.com. Canadian customers are additionally protected by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and we comply fully with its express consent requirements.
Fraud Prevention & Security
We use order data, IP addresses, and behavioural signals to screen for potentially fraudulent transactions, unauthorised account access, or abuse of our return policy. This protects both our business and honest customers from the cost of fraud. Suspicious orders may be subject to additional verification before dispatch.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
We retain certain records to comply with our obligations under UK, US, and Canadian law — including accounting and tax records, VAT / sales tax records, and any records required by consumer protection law. We may also process or disclose your data to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or lawful request from a government authority.
Section 04
Legal Basis for Processing Your Data

Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We, Shopify, and our third-party service providers use cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described below. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser's settings — doing so may affect some website functionality such as your shopping cart.
Strictly Necessary
Required for the website to function. Includes your shopping cart session, login state, checkout progress, and security tokens. These cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
Examples: _shopify_session, _shopify_y, cart token
Analytics & Performance
Help us understand how visitors interact with our store — which pages are most visited, where visitors come from, and how they navigate. Data is aggregated and used to improve the site.
Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid), Shopify Analytics
Functional
Remember your preferences between visits — such as your selected region (US or Canada) and currency, so you do not have to re-select them on every visit.
Examples: _shopify_tw, preferred_currency
Marketing & Retargeting
Only activated with your consent. Used to measure the effectiveness of advertising and, where you have agreed, to deliver relevant ads on other platforms such as Google and Meta.
Examples: Google Ads, Meta Pixel (consent-gated)
To opt out of non-essential tracking, submit a request through our Privacy Opt-Out Request Form. You can also manage cookies directly in your browser. For Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Cookies. For Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security. For Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies.
Section 06
Information We Share with Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Full stop. The following is an exhaustive list of the third parties who may receive your data and the strictly limited reason why.
Shopify Inc. (Platform Provider)
DATA PROCESSOR
Our entire store is built on and hosted by Shopify. They process your order data, payment data (through Shopify Payments), account data, and session data as our data processor. Shopify is certified to the highest security standards including PCI DSS Level 1. See Shopify's Privacy Policy for full details of their processing.
Payment Processors
DATA PROCESSOR
Payment gateways such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, and others available at checkout receive the payment information you enter at checkout. They process and settle your payment on our behalf. We do not receive your full card number. Each processor operates under its own PCI-DSS compliance programme and privacy policy.
Shipping & Fulfilment Carriers
DATA PROCESSOR
Your name, delivery address, and phone number (where provided) are shared with the postal or courier service we use to ship your order — for example USPS, UPS, FedEx, or Canada Post. This data is used solely to deliver your parcel and provide tracking updates. Carriers may retain delivery records as required by their own operating rules.
Analytics Providers
DATA PROCESSOR
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google receives anonymised or pseudonymised data about your browsing session. We have enabled IP anonymisation so your full IP address is not stored by Google. Google Analytics data is governed by Google's privacy policy. We do not permit Google to use your data for Google's own advertising purposes without consent.
Email Marketing Service Provider
DATA PROCESSOR
If you have opted in to marketing emails, your email address and name are stored with the email platform we use to send those campaigns (such as Shopify Email or a connected email service provider). This service provider processes your data exclusively on our instructions and may not use it for their own marketing purposes.
Legal Authorities & Law Enforcement
LEGAL OBLIGATION
We may disclose your personal information if we are legally required to do so — for example, in response to a court order, subpoena, or other lawful request from a governmental or regulatory authority in the UK, USA, or Canada. We will notify you if such a disclosure is made unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
Section 07
How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your personal information only for as long as it is genuinely needed, and no longer. The table below sets out our standard retention periods for each category of data.

When the applicable retention period expires, we securely delete or anonymise your personal data so that it can no longer be linked to you. If you request deletion before the retention period has expired, we will delete all data that we are not legally required to retain and will inform you of any data we must keep and for how long.
Section 08
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you are located, you have specific legal rights over your personal data. We honour all of the following rights for our US and Canadian customers. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@ewwsportsshoes.com or use our Privacy Request Form. We respond within 30 days (45 days for complex requests).
United States Customers — CCPA / CPRA Rights
California residents hold rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have substantially equivalent rights which we also honour.
Right to Know (Access)
You can request a full disclosure of the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, including the categories collected, the purposes for which it was collected, and the categories of third parties with whom it was shared.
Right to Delete
You can request that we delete your personal information. We will delete all data we are not legally required to retain and will inform you of any exceptions (such as order records required for tax compliance). Verified requests will be acted upon within 45 days.
Right to Correct
If you believe we hold inaccurate personal information about you, you can request a correction. You can also update your shipping and billing address directly by contacting our support team.
Right to Opt Out of Sale / Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. However, if you wish to formally opt out of any potential future sharing of your data, you can do so via our Privacy Request Form at any time.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information
We do not collect or process sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA (such as social security numbers, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, health data, or financial account credentials) beyond what is strictly necessary to process your footwear order.
Right to Non-Discrimination
Exercising any of your privacy rights will never result in you receiving a lower quality of service, higher prices, a different level of product availability, or any other form of discriminatory treatment from Eww Sports Shoes.
Canadian Customers — PIPEDA & Provincial Rights
Canadian customers are protected by the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial legislation. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25 (Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector).
Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and information about how it is used.
Right to Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
Right to Data Portability (Quebec): Quebec residents may request a copy of their personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format under Law 25.
Right to Erasure (Quebec): Quebec residents may request deletion of personal information where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to legal retention obligations.
Complaint to a Regulator: If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at www.priv.gc.ca, or with the applicable provincial privacy commissioner.
Section 09
Marketing Communications & Email Opt-Out
We take marketing consent seriously. Here is exactly how our marketing email practices work and how to opt out:
We only send marketing emails with your express consent.
You are added to our marketing list only if you actively tick the marketing opt-in box at checkout or subscribe through our website. Pre-checked boxes do not constitute consent, and we do not use them. Canadian customers are protected by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), which requires a clear, separate, express consent action before any commercial electronic message may be sent.
Unsubscribing is always easy and always works.
Every promotional email we send contains a clearly visible, single-click unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. Clicking it immediately removes you from all future marketing communications. Alternatively, you can email us at info@ewwsportsshoes.com with the subject line "Unsubscribe" and we will remove you manually within 10 business days. Unsubscribing from marketing emails has no effect on transactional emails about your active orders.
Transactional emails cannot be opted out of during an active order.
Emails confirming your order, your payment, your shipment tracking number, and your refund are not marketing communications. They are essential service messages required to complete the transaction you initiated. Once your order is fully resolved, you will receive no further emails unless you have opted into marketing or contact us again.
Full privacy opt-out requests.
For a broader opt-out — including opting out of analytics tracking, retargeting cookies, or requesting deletion of your data — please use our dedicated Privacy Opt-Out Request Form at ewwsportshoes.com/pages/privacy-opt-out-request-form. We process all opt-out requests within 30 days.
Section 10
How We Protect Your Data
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction, or disclosure. Our key security measures include:
SSL / TLS Encryption
All data transmitted between your browser and our store is encrypted via TLS (HTTPS). Look for the padlock in your browser's address bar.
PCI DSS Compliance
Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI DSS Level 1 certified processors. We never store raw payment card data on our own systems.
Shopify Platform Security
Shopify's infrastructure includes DDoS protection, regular security audits, and access controls that limit who can access customer data within the platform.
Access Controls
Access to your personal data within our team is limited to staff who need it to process your order or respond to your support queries. All access is role-based.
Security incident notification: In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority (the UK Information Commissioner's Office) within 72 hours where required, and will notify affected customers without undue delay where there is a high risk to their rights. Canadian customers will be notified in accordance with PIPEDA's mandatory breach reporting requirements.
Section 11
International Data Transfers
As a UK-registered business serving customers in the United States and Canada, your personal information is transferred internationally. We are transparent about these transfers and the safeguards we have in place.
UK to United States & Canada
When you place an order from the US or Canada, your personal data is transmitted to and processed within those countries (for example, by Shopify's servers and by US and Canadian shipping carriers). These transfers are necessary to fulfil your contract with us (deliver your order). Under UK GDPR, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including relying on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses as applicable.
Shopify — Canada & United States
Shopify Inc. is a Canadian company (headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario) with server infrastructure in the United States. Shopify processes order and customer data on our behalf under their Data Processing Agreement, which incorporates Standard Contractual Clauses for UK GDPR compliance. Canada is a country with an adequacy finding under UK GDPR.
Google Analytics — United States
Google Analytics processes anonymised website usage data on US servers. We rely on Google's Standard Contractual Clauses for this transfer. IP anonymisation is enabled so your full IP address is not transferred to Google's servers.
Section 12
Children's Privacy
Eww Sports Shoes is a retail footwear store intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions).
United States — COPPA
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will delete that information as soon as reasonably practicable.
Canada — PIPEDA & Provincial Law
We do not knowingly collect or process personal information from minors under the age of majority in any Canadian province or territory (18 in most provinces; 19 in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick) without the express consent of a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe we have collected personal information from a child, please contact us immediately at info@ewwsportsshoes.com or call +44 20 3322 5623 and we will investigate and take immediate action.
Section 13
Third-Party Websites & Links
Our website may contain links to external websites — such as the official brand websites of ON Running, HOKA, or Brooks, or to carrier tracking pages. These external sites operate independently of Eww Sports Shoes and are governed by their own privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or data handling of any third-party website. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit via a link from our store before submitting any personal information to it. The inclusion of a link on our website does not constitute an endorsement of that site or its privacy practices.
Section 14
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers allow you to transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to websites you visit. Currently, there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and our website does not currently alter its data collection or tracking practices in response to a DNT signal from your browser.
If you wish to limit tracking, we recommend using your browser's cookie settings to block non-essential cookies, or submitting a formal opt-out request through our Privacy Opt-Out Request Form. The Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal is recognised for California residents where technically feasible.
Section 15
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, applicable law, or feedback from customers. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes — those that significantly affect your rights or how we use your data — we will notify customers by email (where we hold an email address for you) and/or by placing a prominent notice on our website prior to the change taking effect.
Your continued use of ewwsportshoes.com after any update constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised policy. If you do not agree with a material change, you may request deletion of your account and personal data before the change takes effect by emailing info@ewwsportsshoes.com.
Section 16
